Earlier this week he was also placed on $50,000 bail after he was charged with Obstruction under the Drug Prevention and Misuse Act. He was charged with Possession of cannabis as well. He is represented by Zena Dyer in that matter.
Meanwhile, police are continuing investigations into the murder. The Chronicle is reliably informed that one person who was recently released is now back in police custody.
Peltier who was the proprietor of Piwi’s Ice-cream, was shot execution style at Rodney’s Rock in the early hours of April 18, 2007.
According to reports, Peltier was seen in the area talking to some persons before proceeding to the beach on Rodney’s Rock along with convicted drug dealer Stowe Prevost. Unconfirmed reports claim that Prevost and Peltier had some transaction which went sour resulting in them being shot. Prevost received gun shot wounds to his hip.
The Chronicle learnt that Peltier received a number of bullets to his body and head killing him on the spot.
In May of 2006, Police had arrested and charged Peltier along with Vincentian national Dillon Jacob with possession with intent to supply 258,250 grams (569 pounds) of compressed marijuana with an estimated street value of EC$1.7 Million. Peltier pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on bail with the matter pending while Jacob was remanded.
